At present, Bakers Code in Besant Nagar functions as a bakery. Plans are afoot to start a café at the facility. The move has been fuelled by the encouraging patronage it enjoys in Besant Nagar. Bakers Code, the brainchild of Nivruti Reddy, daughter of Nina Reddy, first came up in OMR, its name making its intentions clear: wooing the IT crowd.
The Besant Nagar outlet was opened less than a year ago.
“Bakers Code has three branches now – in Besant Nagar, Velachery and OMR,” says Kumaresh S., the GM of the group.
He points out that though the outlet on Besant Nagar was recently opened, it has earned some regular customers. “A plan to start a café is in the pipeline,” he says.
Bakers Code is known for its celebration cakes. Its popular offerings include Danish Cakes, puddings and cupcakes. On how it keeps up with the competition, Kumaresh says, “We are very particular about the quality of our products and we maintain it throughout our branches. All the cooking is done in our central kitchen in OMR and the freshly made deserts are served at every restaurant,” he says.
