The floor inside Navodaya Studios at Kakkanad has been converted into the interiors of an upmarket bank. That is where the shooting of director K. Madhu’s Banking Hours 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. is progressing. As the director calls for ‘action’, actors, who are all waiting for the camera to roll, go through their paces after a quick rehearsal.
In a bank
“It is a thriller. One day, certain incidents happen inside a bank during working hours, which have certain repercussions later on,” says Madhu, who is known for helming some of the finest thrillers in Malayalam such as Erupatham Noottandu , Oru CBI Dairykurippu , Adhipan and Jagrata .
Anoop Menon, Meghna Raj, Kailash, Shankar, Jishnu, Tini Tom, Munna, Shafna, Krishna, Vijay Menon and Biyon feature in the scene being shot.
Anoop Menon, who plays the main lead, says: “It’s not often that K. Madhu directs a film without a superstar playing the hero. My character’s name is Salman, and just the way it happens with most thrillers, there are different shades to this role too.” He says apologetically that he is not entitled to reveal more about his character or the story.
With quite a number of young stars around, the breaks in between the shots turn out to be real fun and they all seem to be getting along like a house on fire.
Tini Tom, Munna, Jishnu and Krishna, who are not needed for the next shot, seem to be having a ball.
Says Munna: “I am playing Rahul in this film. He is in love with the character played by Shafna. He comes to meet her here but certain unprecedented things happen after that.”
Jishnu, who had taken a break from films to concentrate on his enterprise, is back in Mollywood with Nidra and Ordinary . Cinema Company

Banking Hours 10 am - 4 pm is being produced by Stephen Pathickal under the banner of Lemo Films. Saloo George is the cinematographer.
