What the film is about…

How a young man tries every possible way to evade marriage is the premise of 350 Degree Film Corp’s maiden production, Sonna Puriyadhu . Produced by Habib and written and directed by Krishnan Jeyaraj, the film features Siva, Vasundara, Manobala, Kashyap, Meera Krishna, Singamuthu, R.S. Suresh (editing), Ramalingam (art), Ajairaj (choreography) and Yathish Mahadev (music). The audio of the film was released recently.

Music highlights

There are eight songs in the album, three of which are instrumental numbers and they are the theme ‘Sonna puriyadhu,’ ‘Sagaroo’ and ‘Dance to it’. ‘Kelu magane Kelu,’ sung by Jagadeesh and written by Karky, is good. ‘Kalyana salaiyil,’ written by the same lyricist and sung by SPB Charan and Chinmayi, is above average. ‘Devadhaiyai ratchasiyai,’ written by Na. Muthukumar and sung by Ranjith, comes next. The same lyricist’s ‘Un tholil’ sung by M.K. Balaji stands out for its lines and is sure to win the hearts of the listeners. ‘Ayyaiyo poache’, written by the music director who has sung it with M.K.Balaji, is interesting.

What they say…

Producer Habib: We listened to a few stories before settling for Krishnan Jayaraj's script. Sonna Puriyadhu is a fun film with enjoyable twists and turns. Quick-witted Shiva will keep the audience in splits throughout.

Director Krishnan Jayaraj: After working in the ad industry for more than 10 years and assisting director C.S. Amudhan on his Tamizh Padam , I'm making my directorial debut with this film. As Shiva, who plays the protagonist, liked the script he said yes to the project without any hesitation. I am sure Sonna Puriyadhu will be a two-and-a-half-hour fun ride.

Music director Yathish Mahadev: When Sonna Puriyadhu happened, I knew this movie was going to give me the break I needed to make it big in the film industry. The audio mastering was done in Germany as my aim was to have a perfect soundtrack. Ever since the music has been released, I have been getting appreciation from various quarters.

Hero Shiva: At my first meeting with music director Yathish Mahadev, I told him he was the hero of the film. We enjoyed the songs even while we were filming them. We shot a duet in Thailand, which has come out really well. I play a dubbing artist who dubs Chinese films into Tamil. Vasundhara Kashyap plays the female lead and has done a good job of it. The team of Sonna Puriyadhu is essentially young with refreshing thoughts.
