Film lovers have lots to look for this Pongal. It’s going to be a clash of the Titans at the box-office with the release of both Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiyaan and Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam. The other releases include Karthi’s Alex Pandian, Vishal’s MGR and ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s Aadhibhagavan. Another film that has been scheduled for Pongal is Sivakarthikeyan’s Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga.
Director Bala’s Paradesi has generated interest among film goers, alright! How else do you explain the film’s 1.46-minute trailer getting over five-lakh hits on YouTube in just over two days? The film is being subtitled in many languages, including English, to be screened at various film festivals, including the popular Cannes International. The film will be part of the segment celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.
Baby Sara, who made people sit up and take notice with her performance in Deiva Thirumagal, will soon be seen on the big screen again. The film Vizhudugal is to be directed by Meera Kathiravan of Aval Peyar Thamizharasi fame. Venkat Prabhu will play Sara’s dad. The cast includes Krishna (Kazhugoo), Vidharth, Dhansika, Abhinaya and Thambi Ramaiah. Sara is also doing a Hindi film Tomorrow, and two more are said to be in the pipeline.

Raghava Lawrence’s Muni released in 2007, and its sequel Kanchana — Muni 2, was a hit. Its dubbed Telugu version was a hit too. In fact, the film is being remade in Sinhalese and would be released soon. The buzz now is that the shooting for Muni 3 is to begin this month. Apparently, the artists and technicians are being finalised.
