Uyir Mozhi

Uyir Mozhi

Five categories

Did you know all human beings can be broadly classified into five categories based on their DNA? This concept is taken up for treatment in a Tamil film under production. Titled Uyir Mozhi , the film, directed by Raja, features newcomers, except comedian Chauums, who plays an important role.

Says Raja: “The five primary behavioural patterns are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta and Omega. Everybody fits into one of these categories. Those with leadership traits fall under Alpha, those who are basically self-centred under Beta. Under Gamma fall those who are confused. The innocence personified are Omega, while those we generally term ‘psychos' are categorised as Delta. While everybody aspires to be an Alpha, the truth is there are very few who will qualify for it.

He continues, “The story of Uyir Mozhi is about five boys, each representing a DNA category. All five fall for a girl and who she chooses and how she goes about it are what the film is about.” The music is by Santosh Narayanan, and R. P. Gurudev handles the camera.

Neethane En Ponvasanthamin September?

It looks like fans of Gautam Vasudev Menon might have to wait a bit longer for his next film Neethane En Ponvasantham to hit the screens.

That's because the ace director plans to release the film, featuring Jiiva and Samantha in the lead, late August or September. However, they can take heart that the music of the film is to release in the first week of July.

Says Gautam: “The film is almost ready, but I don't want it to be obscured by the biggie Maatran . So, I will wait for Maatran 's release.”

If one is to go by the earlier announcement by the producers of Maatran who had stated they were planning an Independence Day (August 15) release, then, it is obvious NEP will hit the screens only by the fag end of August or early September.

Gautam has also said he is to begin work on his next film Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru , featuring Vijay in the lead, from July.

Meanwhile, the director plans to produce a movie featuring Jai and Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead. Santhanam and VTV Ganesh also form part of the cast. Says Gautam: “The film titled Tamilselvanum Thaniyaar Anjalum is to be a bilingual. In Telugu, Nitin will play Jai's role. Kartik has come up with some lovely tunes for the film to be directed by Prem Sai, an associate of Prabhu Deva. Work on the film, a mix of romance, action and comedy, starts on June 14.”

Rain plays spoilsport

The Thaandavam team, which is shooting in London, seems to be seeking divine help. The entire unit, comprising Vikram, Anushka, Amy Jackson, Nasser and Lakshmi Rai, is keeping its fingers crossed, hoping the rains lashing the city will stop, allowing it to complete the shoot of the remaining portion.

Dhananjayan of UTV tweeted, “Today, planned a big scene in a huge Government building with lots of local junior artistes. Heavy rains forced us to abandon. Losing heavily…”

He added, “Another 5 days to go to complete the London portions of Thaandavam . Hope the rains stop and help us finish.”
