Director Rupesh Paul has got together an impressive cast, which includes Nasser, for his forthcoming bi-lingual, Kamasutra 3D . Following Saint Dracula 3D , Rupesh will direct a story that revolves around a young and beautiful Indian princess, who sets out on a voyage in search of her husband whom she got married to as a child. “On this voyage on a luxurious ship, the princess undergoes a transformation of mind, body and soul. She is introduced to the forbidden world of sex and sensuality by a fellow passenger,” says Rupesh. In a parallel story, Nasser plays a Rajput king who loses all his wealth and kingdom, save the palace he lives in. “He is an extraordinary actor who loves to challenge his previous roles. In the king’s role, he is prone to hallucinating that he is still the monarch of all he surveys. Because of this he is unable to marry off his daughter. In the neighbouring kingdom is a rich Mughal emperor whose advances towards the Rajput princess are loaded with sexual innuendos. He tempts the king with riches and the latter falls for it,” says Rupesh.

All in a cinema

He is known to have directed 17 family-centric movies in his 24-year career. Now, in his 18th film, Saravana Poigai , director V. Shekar is introducing his son, Karl Marx. Karl has always dreamt of being in films and has undergone extensive training in acting, dancing and fighting. Shekar has cast Arundathi opposite Karl in this family drama. “In Saravana Poigai , I have combined romance and comedy. Karl and Karunas are employed in a theatre as ticket seller and collector, respectively. Vivek plays a role as an actor. Karl is in love with Arundathi, while her sister is Karunas’ love interest. Vivek is also in love with Arundathi. Most of the scenes have been shot in a real movie theatre as the story is about life within it,” says Shekar.

Exploring relationships

Jai does another memorable role ( Chennai 28, Subramaniapuram and Engeyum Eppodhum to name a few others) in director Parthy Bhaskar’s Arjunanin Kadhali . Paired with him is Poorna. The story is about a man torn between love for a girl and love for his parents. Parthy Bhaskar explores these relationships in this film. He says he is privileged to be directing a movie such as this for producer Sivasakthi Pandian’s Sivasakthi Movie Makers, the banner behind successful films such as Kadhal Kottai and Kadal Pookal .
