Poonam Kaur

Poonam Kaur seems to have earned brownie points from her unit for her courage.

The actor, who plays the lead in the Tamil film “Vadham,” recently impressed her crew by continuing to act despite sustaining injuries in an accident during a schedule in Kodaikanal.

Says director Mathivannan: “We were shooting a song in Kodaikanal for which Poonam had to lie on a hammock tied over a huge stream. While shooting for the song, Poonam slipped and fell into the stream which had powerful currents, and its bed was full of sharp, jagged rocks. Despite sustaining bruises and cuts, the actor held on to a rock to avoid being washed away. Had she let go, she would have been swept away towards the waterfall, a few feet away. The whole unit was shaken by the incident. I even thought of calling it a day. However, she just took a 10-minute break and was ready to shoot again. She is indeed a very brave girl.”

Gowravam to go on floors on June 18

It seems like director Radhamohan, known for his films such as “Mozhi,” “Azhagiya Theeyae,” “Abhiyum Naanum” and “Payanam,” is finally set to begin work on his next film, “Gowravam.” The film is to go on floors on June 18 in Mysore.

Work on the film, which will feature Allu Sirish in the lead, could not be started as a result of the delay in finalising the heroine. Now, Radhamohan seems to have resolved the issue by opting for Yami Gautham, who was part of the popular Hindi film, “Vicky Donor.”

The music for the bilingual, which will also feature Prakash Raj, is to be scored by Thaman.
