Barfi! In Tamil

Even as work on the Tamil remake of Delhi Belly continues, there are plans to remake the recently-released Barfi! as well.

Dhananjayan of UTV, which owns the rights to the Hindi original, said “We are seriously contemplating a Tamil remake of this film. Discussions are on with a star who does not want us to disclose his name at this point of time. We intend to start work in January, next year.”

A Deal with God?

Actor Arun Vijay believes that any project he sets in motion at Pazhani, one of the abodes of Lord Muruga, will succeed. He has begun work on his next movie Deal , which will have Karthika playing the female lead.

Says Arun: “Lord Muruga is my favourite god. Shooting for my last three films, Malai Maalai, Maanja Velu and Thadayara Thaaka, began at Pazhani, and they all did well at the box office. In fact, after Maanja Velu , I had a vel tattooed on my back. Now, we have started work on my next film too at Pazhani. Although the film’s story involves locations in Chennai, Rajapalayam and Theni, we have shot the first scene at Pazhani and will be moving to Rajapalayam.”

The film, directed by newcomer Sivagnanam, will be totally different from Thadayara Thaaka , says Arun.

Back on track

Siva, who made an impact with his music for Love Today , a 1997 Tamil film, is making a comeback. The music director, who had first moved to Tollywood and then to the U.S. to work on an album, is to score the music for the film Oruvar Meedhu Iruvar Saaindhu . That’s not all. He has even changed his name to Hariharan.
