Ram Gopal Varma returns to the horror genre with “Bhoot Returns”, the sequel to his 2003 scare fest “Bhoot”. Scheduled to release on October 12, “Bhoot Returns” has been shot in 3D. Seen in the lead role in a Hindi film after a long gap will be Chakravarthy, who rose to the spotlight following his title role in the 1998 RGV blockbuster “Satya” and who has, since, kept a low profile in Bollywood. “Bhoot Returns” also stars Manisha Koirala, Madhu Shalini and Alayana Sharma.

What’s the concept behind “Bhoot Returns”?
“Bhoot Returns’ is full of scary moments and captivates people psychologically. The film is solely made for entertaining.
You’ve acted in more than 30 films in South India, which includes films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, but not so much in Hindi...
During “Satya” we thought we were making a good film. We never thought we were making a blockbuster. In the South I got back-to-back films after “Satya”, and even right now I’m committed to many Southern films. It was after “Satya” that I started working on all the South Indian films that came my way.
You and Ram Gopal Varma go back a long way…
“Bhoot Returns” is my 27th film with RGV as an actor. I assist Ramu ji as well, and if we take that into account, it’s my 69th or 70th film with him. Everybody thinks I only work for Ramu ji , but that’s not true. As an actor, I did 27 films with him, and the other 50 to 60 I did with others.
Throw some light on the storyline of “Bhoot Returns”...
Horror movies have a minimum storyline. Story and horror are inversely proportional to each other in films in the horror genre. The whole film is surrounded by paranormal activities. It is all about moments.
What will make “Bhoot Returns” click then?
“Bhoot Returns” will play on the anxiety of the audience. The audiography will prove very different. RGV is not only arresting you with visuals — though the film is very rich visually — but also with sounds. He masters the additional tool called 3D and seasons it with maximum music.
