Shika

Shika

How it happened

When in college, I was doing a few print and television advertisements. One day, I got a call from director Yograj Bhat for his Kannada film Gaalipata . That was my first film. In Chennai, I learnt that director Madhumitha was looking for a girl to play the lead. I met her, and bagged my first Tamil film Kola Kolaya Mundhirika .

How it felt

When I first saw the words ‘Introducing Shikha' on the screen, I had goosebumps. I was excited, but a tad nervous too. After my first movie released, people started recognising me. When my first Tamil film was released, I wanted to see how the audience reacted, and so, I watched it at a theatre in Chennai. I was overwhelmed to see them enjoying the film.

How life changed

Not much, except that people recognise me now. They come up to me, and even offer suggestions on what I must do. I've listened to a few good scripts, but haven't signed any new films yet. Right now, I'm shooting for Kannada film Wah Re Wah , directed by Vijaylakshmi Singh.
