ALL CHARGED UP: Hrithik Roshan

ALL CHARGED UP: Hrithik Roshan

Though Hrithik Roshan looked casual in a white T-shirt, blue denims, glasses and a cap when we met him, he seems to be still under the Kites hangover — he was still sporting the Kites look complete with stubble and long hair. He talks passionately about his upcoming film co-starring Barbara Mori and Kangna Ranaut.

Your new movie is called Kites , have you ever flown one?

Yes. I remember dad teaching me how to fly a kite, along with chacha (my uncle Rajesh Roshan). We would stay on the 13th floor of a building then. It was very difficult for me. I was very small and failed to understand that a kite may be light when you hold it in your hands, but when it is in the air and you are pulling at it with the manja , it is very difficult to handle; it kept flying out of my hand.

You just released the music of Kites on radio.

Interacting with the audiences on the radio has charged me up. This was the first time we were talking about Kites . I'm hoping for some good feedback to come my way.

The film has been in the news for a while now; but why was the event so low key?

They (the marketing and PR guys) must have some strategy in mind. They will tell me what I have to do and I will do what I can. I'm not into marketing; I'm just an actor.

Will Barbara Mori be in town to promote the film?

Yes, she will be in town; she is coming in next month.

Why is only yours and Barbara's name being talked about? Kangna's name hardly seems to be hardly there.

I'm not the guy who handles the marketing or the promos of the film. The film is a love story between the two characters played by Barbara and me. The idea behind how to project the first image or the promo comes from the director and this is what he wants to tell about the story. So ‘Why is this not there?' and ‘Why is that not there?' is not our concern; it is the prerogative of the director.

You are doing fewer ads these days and Ranbir has replaced you in the John Players ad.

Nothing of that sort. I'm doing enough ads. I'm doing Provogue now.

When Ranbir took up John Players, he said he is going to take your legacy ahead; do you feel old?

I feel very young.
