Actor Sharwanand: I have always let script-driven ideas attract me and I still do it. The actor is equally responsible for the fate of the film at the box office.

Flops do not baffle him, he says, but he does want his films to do well. Doesn’t every actor? .

Actor Sharwanand is relaxed after completing director Sujeeth’s directorial debut Run Raja Run . Unmindful of using a cliché, Sharwanand insists, “This bilingual rom-com is expected to be different from what is seen earlier. It is entertaining and has a different angle to capture the attention of the audience.” The actor goes out of his way to praise co-star Seerat Kapoor’s professionalism; he says it is rare to find an actor from Bombay deliver her own dialogues in Telugu. “She is one the first girls from Bombay to have delivered their dialogues. I was impressed with her dedication. Everyday, she would come prepared with her lines and never struggled for dialogues when shooting. She is also a very good dancer.”

The actor was last seen in Satya 2. The actor confesses about how he handles bad results: “I do ponder over what could have gone wrong. Since I cannot rewind and correct the mistakes of an earlier project, I do what is possible within me. I try not to repeat any of my earlier mistakes. I have always let script-driven ideas attract me and I still do it. As an actor I cannot wash my hands off. The actor is equally responsible for the fate of the film at the box office,” he points out. That is why he doesn’t believe in getting typecast and repeating what fits in his comfort zone.

Though tight-lipped about Run Raja Run, Sharwanand hints at what can be expected. “The leading lady is a dance teacher and her dance steps are way better than mine. But I have tried hard and matched her pace,” he laughs. He doesn’t mind sharing screen space with a strong female presence as long the movie is entertaining and appeals to the public. “I wouldn’t mind doing a movie (if offered) which is driven by the female lead,” he shrugs.

After Run Raja Run , Sharwanand awaits the release of his next with Nithya Menen. The actor is also working on a few Tamil projects.
