Another film in the Sankranti race is Bheemavaram Bullodu. Director Uday Shankar is extremely confident that Sunil has his own fan base and people will watch his film irrespective of Yevadu and 1Nenokkadine hitting the screens around the same time. What adds to the festive spirit is the title. Sunil hails from Bheemavaram and the last time he went to his village for the audio release he was elated at huge response. The director says, “Having an audio release in Hyderabad is a routine concept, since the film is about a hero who hails from Bheemavaram we thought we would have it there and it took place at such a short notice.”

There was a talk of a title change owing to the bifurcation talk in the State, is it true? “There is absolutely no relation between cinema and politics. The title is correct for the story. I like the perfect mix of comedy, action in this film and feel it is a tailor made story for Sunil. We saw Maryada Ramanna and Poolarangadu and thought it was best to have him after seeing the audience accept him in the action scenes,” quips the director.

The story has Sunil relocating from Bheemavaram to Hyderabad after it is revealed in his medical report that he will survive for another ten days only. Basically a timid man, he musters courage to fight the rowdies in the city who unleash terror knowing that the ten days should help him do something worthwhile. He develops cold feet and runs away thinking of his death and bumps into a young woman. She apparently helps him to face the world with confidence. Uday Shankar stresses that he is not shown as a regular hero but as a very normal human being with a set of limitations. The director talks about the highpoints of the film, “Sunil speaks with a natural Bheemavaram dialect, which justifies the title too.”
