New villain in town
Though he has done ten Malayalam films, Hreshh (nephew of Malayalam superstar Mammootty, and previously called Ashkar Saudan), made his debut in Tamil cinema recently with Sowcarpettai. He had earlier debuted in Malayalam with Thaskaraveeran. “I have been doing negative roles and small, but significant character roles in Malayalam films. Here, I played the villain,” he says. The actor, whose last released film in Malayalam was Kolamass, says, “I am quite at ease playing roles with grey shades, but am willing to try any kind of character.”
Excited about her lead role
Deekshitha is elated about the release of her second film, Aagam. “In my first film, Thirumanam Ennum Nikkah, I was a co-star with the lead pair, Jai and Nazriya. Aagam is my first as a lead heroine. I liked the concept of the film. ”Scripted and directed by Vijay Anand Sriram, the story revolves around the job scam scenario. The hero is played by Irfan.
Star struck
Cinematographer Tirru is thrilled about working with two big stars from different industries. “I am on an extended schedule for my first Telugu film, Janata Garage, wherein I get to work with two big stars from different industries – Junior NTR and Mohanlal.” He had set up a garage, self-illuminated with natural lighting, thanks to which he managed a good tonal quality on camera. Tirru, who is working with Suriya in his next film 24, and is currently shooting in Mumbai, says, “I have used very unique colour spectrums to convey the needs of the script; the hero does a triple role. Shooting each of these scenes thrice was a real challenge.”
