Does crime pay?
Dilmika and Bala from the U.K., Vijith Kumar from Canada, and Vaibhavi from France play four youngsters who flee a strife-ridden Sri Lanka to seek asylum in European countries. Director Puthiyavan Rasiah, who had earlier made Mann (2007), says by choosing actors from foreign countries, he is able to lend authenticity to his screenplay. “These youngsters choose a path of violence with a view to making quick money to eventually lead a respectable life. But, does money change their lives or do they resort to a permanent life of crime? This is what Yavum Vasappadum is about,” says Rasiah.
Sakshi shoots for Ka Ka Ka Po
Well-versed in Tamil, Kannada, Hindi and English, Sakshi Agarwal has already made her presence felt in Kannada with movies such as Software Ganda and Heddari . Her Tamil movies Yoogan and Thiruttu VCD are awaiting release, and Sakshi is busy shooting for Ka Ka Ka Po . “The title is an abbreviation for Kavitha Kannadasan Kadhalikka Poranga, which, I believe, is a popular line from a Vadivelu film. My role is that of a positive character who brings good fortune to whoever is around her. Then, she meets this guy (Keshav), a real loser. What transpires during the three days of their meeting is an amusing episode that involves several humorous characters,” says Sakshi.
Jithesh wants to try comedy next
While he was cast as a romantic hero in the 2013 film, Chikki Mukki , Jithesh opted for an action-packed role in Talakkonam , his second film. “ Chikki Mukki proved to be a good start to my career. I wanted to explore other facets of my acting and hence chose the action role in Talakkonam in which I am paired with Rhea from the Telugu film industry. I am quite happy at the way my career is progressing. I want to experiment with other genres too. Therefore, I am going through some scripts that have comedy as well as action,” says Jithesh.
