Music highlights

There are seven songs in the album and Kalaikumar, Pa.Vijai and Vairabharathi have contributed the lyrics. ‘Konjam Punnagai,’ which comes first, has been beautifully rendered by Harish Ragavendra and Vinaya. ‘Manase Lesa’ is a duet by Ranjith and Shwetha Mohan. ‘Kairegai’ has two versions — the happy one, sung by Madhushree and Haricharan, scores over the sad one sung by Chinmayi. ‘Kadhal Oru’ is sung by Jassie Gift and Suchitra, while its remix version is sung by Hyde Karty, Sylvester, Jessie Gift and Suchithra. Here too, the original version is better. ‘Azhagana,’ sung by Haricharan, is a melodious number which wraps up the album. What they say…

Producers T. Immanuel, P. Ramesh: We are in the real estate business. As we are passionate about films, a common friend introduced us to director Vikraman. We came to know that he made the first films of top production houses such as Aascar Films and Super Good Films. So, sentimentally, we wanted him to direct our maiden venture. Ninaithathu Yaaro is a beautiful love story.

Director Vikraman: This is my 16th film and I’ve cast all newcomers. We have shot some songs and scenes in Kashmir — Gulmar, Srinagar and Pehalgam. Another song has been shot at Hampi and Badami. This film on friendship is targeted at the youth. Hero Rajith: I studied in St. Joseph’s College of Engineering in Chennai. I was selected for the role without even an audition. I have acted in a few films in Malayalam. It was an honour to work with acclaimed director Vikraman and I enjoyed each moment of the shoot.

Music director X. Paul Raj: I am a keyboard player and have worked in some of the best films directed by Vikraman. Beginning with Gangai Amaren, I have worked for all the top music directors such as Ilaiyaraja, A.R. Rahman, Vidyasagar and Sirpi. I have brought out nearly 250 albums and composed the title tracks of various TV programmes. This is my first film as music director in Tamil. Director Vikraman has a good sense of music and asked me to compose melodies for this film.
