Storytelling for Screen, a U.K. screenwriting course, will be brought to India for the first ever time. Representatives of the Professional Writing Academy, U.K., who will join hands with John Yorke, the founder of the BBC Writers Academy, will be at NFDC’s Film Bazaar in Goa until November 26.
A screenwriting competition will be announced during the coming week to invite screenplay entries from interested participants, and those shortlisted will be admitted to this course that will commence in Goa in March. The plan is to follow the initial lessons in Goa with online webinars, video conferencing, and chats with U.K. tutors, and help screenwriters from India, South East Asia, and the Middle East complete their screenplay. The course will be developed in partnership with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ashvin Kumar.
