Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned 49 on Sunday and thanked his admirers, who turned up in large numbers to celebrate his birthday outside his residence in Mumbai.

Shah Rukh, who is basking in the glory of his latest release ‘Happy New Year’, took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

“So many beautiful people outside Mannat. Thank you all for celebrating my birthday with such ownership and love. Very humbling...,” Shah Rukh tweeted.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who celebrated his actress daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai’s birthday on Saturday, also took to the micro-blogging site to wish the ‘Chennai Express’ actor.

“A day of celebration... At home for the ‘bahu’ and out for the friend SRK.. Millions of wishes and people of merit around.!,” Big B posted.

SRK’s ‘Happy New Year’ co-star Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah also wished the actor on his birthday. “It is a grace to be loved by millions that you have touched yet never met. I know I have surely ‘met’ you too. Happy birthday @iamsrk,” Boman wrote.

“Happyy Happyy Birthdayy @iamsrk you are the Best!,” Vivaan tweeted.

‘Happy New Year’ music-composer Vishal wrote, “Happy Birthday to the king of the movies, @iamsrk. Thanks for your grace, love and all you’ve taught us. Sorry we couldn’t be there tonight!”

Actor Anupam Kher, who worked with the actor in many films including ‘Happy New Year’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, wrote, “Happy Birthday @iamsrk. May God give you health, peace & happiness always. May you entertain the world for generations to come. Love you.”
