PK shoot resumes after hiccup in Nashik temple

Hitch after temple trustee failed to inform top brass of proposed shoot at location

Controversy appears to be dogging the Aamir Khan-starrer PK as the film’s shoot was interrupted in Nashik on Monday. Reports say the trustees of the ancient Kalaram Temple, along with the local administration, stopped the shooting on its premises in the morning. It was a case of miscommunication as the trust chairman was not informed by a member that he had collected the fee for shooting. After the delay, the shoot proceeded as scheduled in the afternoon.

“The temple is a historic, heritage site where filming or photography is strictly prohibited. Notices are accordingly put up on the premises. Further, we feared that religious sentiments might be hurt,” Ajay Nikam, lawyer and member of the Kalaram Temple Trust, told The Hindu .

The film’s posters in which Aamir Khan posed nude had generated a controversy earlier.

The shoot was later allowed in the “larger interests of Nashik,” and Mr. Nikam remarked that the temple Board did not want to be perceived as “unfriendly” .
