“We have held only Hindustani music fests, but intend to include other genres too like Sufi and Carnatic,” adds Jawahar Mahi.
The most anticipated concert is of Parveen Sultana. She is expected to regale the audiences with her trademark Bhairavi or Darbari Kanhada. She believes that it is only classical music that gives her complete satisfaction. Audiences, who have heard earlier vouch that in her programmes, she shares chutkule and takes up their farmaishes .
Seventh generation of Etawah Gharana, sitarist Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan is popular for vocal phrasing of raga improvisations.

Omkar says that though there is no rehearsed plan for the event, music is based on the ambiance. “I could start with thumri, dadra, and then go on to Bhajan and semi-classical music.”
Bansuri and shehnai player Rajendra Prasanna, who belongs to Banaras Gharana, agrees that Hyderabad is doing a great service to the musicians. “The city has many music connoisseurs and receives musicians with open arms,” add Rajendra Prasanna.
Ruchira Panda, senior disciple of Pandit Manas Chakraborty, belonging to Kotali Gharana will be performing for the first time in Hyderabad. “I have heard about the Hyderabadis love for music and am looking forward to perform in Hyderabad,” she says.
The kotali gharana singer says that performing with legends had helped her improve her music. “The shastriya sangeet has its own grammar and I have grown with it.”
On her repertoire, she says, “Indian classical music has music depending on the time and mood. Majorly, the compositions will no doubt depend on the ambiance, I would like to render a long Khayal, semi-classical and some bhajans.” Her live performances have compositions of her guru, her own and traditional, in that order.
The event is being organised by Sreenidhi Educational Group and KMR Foundation.
