Here is a 30-second quick review of 'Vanamagan'

Actor Jayam Ravi plays a tribesman lost in a big city in Vanamagan .

The actor has no dialogues in the film, not in a language we would recognise anyway. "We invented a language. It’s not gibberish, but has grammar and a dictionary. There’s a simple trick to how we invented this, which we will reveal once the film hits screens," said Ravi in an interview to The Hindu recently.

National award-winning make-up artiste Pattanam Rasheed played a crucial role in making Ravi look the part of a tribesman. "He wanted me to apply five layers of make-up and chop my hair to get that look. Even for the body language, I didn’t want to bulk up, as tribals don’t go to gyms!" said the actor.

The first half of Vanamagan is set in the forests and has been shot in Vietnam and Thailand. The second half is set in Chennai. "There’s also a huge action sequence that involves a tiger, and it will be the highlight of the film," said director A.L. Vijay .
