The trailer for Veere Di Wedding is finally here, and it gives us the Indian version of Bridesmaids we've been waiting for — only in this, the bride doesn't want to get married. Kareena Kapoor Khan stars as Kalindi Puri, the bride in question, who has accepted her boyfriend Rishabh's (Sumeet Vyas) proposal only to regret it. Enter a Punjabi family, ostentatious wedding planning, and a group of girlfriends played by Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor and Shikha Talsania, and there is a formula that is unheard of in Hindi cinema. Of course, the gratuitous swearing in the trailer is also new to audiences, and it remains to be seen if this is well-received, by both audiences and the CBFC. Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, the movie is slated for a June 1 release.
