What happens when a baseball player is tapped to be a spy during World War II, and possibly be tasked with killing Heisenberg (yes, the Heisenberg)? Going by the trailer, we get an intense biopic starring Paul Rudd as the titular catcher Moe Berg and Mark Strng as Werner Heisenberg. Moe Berg was described as “the brainiest guy in baseball” in the book on which this film is based. The Office of Strategic Services, the predecessor of the CIA, recruits him as he can speak 10 languages, and is physically fit. His job: get close to Heisenberg to determine the scope of Germany’s atomic bomb programme. Ben Lewin, who directed 2017’s  Please Stand By,  is helming this movie, which also stars Jeff Daniels, Sienna Miller, Paul Giamatti and Giancarlo Giannini.  The Catcher Was a Spy  is scheduled for a June 22, 2018 release.
