Going down memory lane, director Mani Ratnam and music composer A.R. Rahman took to Facebook Live to release the trailer of the coming movie Kaatru Veliyidai . They reminisced about the beginning of their journey 25 years ago.

The duo first worked on ‘Roja’ in 1992, and since then, Rahman has scored the music for every Mani Ratnam movie till date.

The short six-minute live session started with Rahman playing ‘Vaan’, a track from Kaatru Veliyidai .

“You and your work has been an inspiration,” said Rahman, when Mani Ratnam asked him what he felt about their journey together over the last two-and-a-half decades. Speaking about their first movie together, Rahman also went on to play a small piece from the song ‘Chinna Chinna Aasai’.

Following their short interaction, the trailer of Kaatru Veliyidai and the trailer of the Telugu version of the movie Cheliya   were released.

The movie, having Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles, is slated for release in April.

Three songs from the movie have been released so far and they have become chart busters.

Rahman has a strong presence on social media with Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages. He has earlier gone live on Periscope in January to voice his support for the protests against the ban on jallikattu in Tamil Nadu.
