Madhur Bhandarkar starts shooting ‘Calendar Girls’

Known for seeking real-life inspirations for his films, he has opted for five newcomers for the film that revolves around the models who gain popularity after featuring in famous calendars.

National award—wining director Madhur Bhandarkar has begun shooting his next film ‘Calendar Girls’.

The 45—year—old ‘Fashion’ helmer, who is known for seeking real—life inspirations for his films, has opted for five newcomers for the film that revolves around the models who gain popularity after featuring in famous calendars.

The film is being shot at a tight schedule of 40 days.

“Start shooting #CalendarGirls from today! High on concept, this youthful film has 5 new faces to be shot in a 40 day start—to—finish schedule,” Bhandarkar tweeted.

The filmmaker, whose last outing was Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Heroine’, said he is excited about the shoot.

“No matter how many films you have made in your career, the first day of shoot of your new film is always a mixture of excitement and nerves,” he added.

In Bollywood, many actresses, including Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Esha Gupta, have shot to fame after being featured in the annual calendar of a liquor brand.
