The fictitious cafe Central Perk was a favourite New York meeting spot for Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey and Phoebe in the hit comedy ‘Friends’. Now fans of the cult US sitcom can now drop in for a cup of coffee themselves. The first episode of Friends was broadcast in September 1994 and the series ran until 2004.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the show, an exact replica of the Central Perk set will be open as a real cafe in New York’s SoHo district from this Wednesday until October 18. The pop-up shop will serve free cups of Eight O’Clock Coffee, feature live musical performances and props from the show, including the iconic orange couch. Fans will also be given the opportunity to win and buy Friends merchandise, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
