‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ star Chris Pratt has been finalised to host the premiere episode of Saturday Night Live’s new season.

The three hour gala special hosted by the 35-year-old actor will air on September 27 and will feature a lot of guest appearances from ‘Saturday Night Live’ alumni. Ariana Grande will be the musical guest, reported Contactmusic .

Also hosting during the 40th season will be two more ‘SNL’ alumni, comedienne Sarah Silverman and funny man Bill Murray and a replacement announcer for the show is also expected as Don Pardo, the man who had been in the job for every season baring one, passed away in August aged 96.
