The flying squad of the Election Commission on Friday searched Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy’s car which was parked at his residence, but no recovery was made.

Officials said the search was conducted following tip-offs that some of the high-profile candidates were stashing money in their campaign vehicles for disbursement to the voters.

The officials in the presence of an expenditure observer intercepted the vehicle of Chief Minister who was returning to his residence at Thilaspet after completing campaign in Kamaraj Nagar constituency.

The officials searched the vehicles parked there thoroughly and video-recorded the search. According to the officials, they found no cash from his vehicle.
