The Bharatiya Kisan Manch, a group of 13 farmers’ unions, will campaign against the BJP in Gujarat ahead of the Assembly elections, for reneging on its promise to implement the Swaminathan Commission’s report.
During the 2014 polls, the party had promised to implement the report, but did a U-turn after entering office. “The farmers feel cheated. We have decided to campaign against the BJP,” Manch president Satnam Singh Beru said .
