DU admissions 2017: St. Stephens releases cut-offs

St. Stephens College has announced the cut-off list for students applying for its merit-based undergraduate programmes.

The highest cut-off is required for BA(Hons) Ecocomics and BA(Hons) English with 98.5%. This is a fall from the 99% required for BA(Hons) English last year. The college has released different cut-offs for Commerce, Humanities and Science students.

Candidates will be short-listed for the aptitude test and the interview on the basis of cut-off marks. A short-list of applicants along with their interview schedules will be put up on the college website and notice boards on June 14 after 4 p.m.

The weightage for marks in the qualifying exam, a written aptitude test and interview will be 85%, 5%, and 10%, respectively.

The aptitude test will be of 30 minutes’ duration and will be conducted on the same day as the interview. The syllabus for the test will be according the the programme/course that the candidate is applying for.

The college has put up details of the type of questions that will be asked in its prospectus.

Applicants belonging to Persons with Disability (PwD) Category and those applying through Sports quota will be exempted from the written Aptitude Test. Sports admissions will be done based on academic merit accounting for 30% [Class XII marks (15%) + interview (15%)], and sports merit accounting for 70% [certificates (28% ) + field trials (42%)]

50% of the seats are set apart exclusively for Christian candidates. Applicants to the college have to first fill the centralised DU admission form and then fill the St. Stephens application form as the college follows a different admission procedure from other DU colleges.
