An energetic start to the New Year and Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology, Ghatkesar is all decked up to host its national annual student fest ‘Rigolade’ from January 18 to 20.

“The huge turnout for our fest Trinity ’16 prepared us to manage a bigger audience this time around,” say the event organisers, all drawn from the Arts Club and Techvision clubs from the college. The three day inter-college fest will be inaugurated on Wednesday by Charan Lakkaraju (founder of the student magazine Stumagz ) and academician Chukka Ramaiah at the campus.

The techno-cultural event comprises diverse activities with the non-technical events being handled by Arts Club and the rest by Techvision. A stand-up comedy show, a short film contest, a photography workshop and Vivarth (The Flashmob) are among the cultural events. Events that test one’s technical acumen include Techquest contest, Tathva and Bon voyage. Unearthing a participant’s creative mettle are events like art made out of waste, nail art, mobile case designing and doodling. For those with an ear and a voice for music, events like Rap Battle, Beatbox Mania and also a Battle of Bands are bound to create interest. Then there are Pada Vinyasam, Sherlocked, a mock MUN to unearth the best of literary enthusiasts.

With several spot events and games planned at the venue, Rigolade could well set the tone for student fests across the city. “We are leaving no stone unturned to make it a benchmark student fest,” say Tejeswini and Saphal Kumar, who’re putting their best foot forward for the event.

Vivarth

National-award winning singer Monali Thakur will give a special performance on the night of Vivarth, after the flashmob.
