Pushing for a ‘fair’ deal

October 16, 2017 12:00 am | Updated 12:00 am IST

Some States (and Union Territories) have completed the process of automating transactions at fair price shops, but many others are lagging behind. The map shows State-wise percentage of shops automated.

Data released in July show about 2.46 lakh of the 5.27 lakh shops in the country have been automated so far.

Note: Automation involves the installation of electronic point of sale devices for using biometric authentication and electronically uploading the transaction data.
