The 82nd annual Music conference and Festival of The Indian Fine Arts Society will be held from Dec. 17 to 31, 2014, at Ethiraja Kalyana Nilayam, 87, TTK Road, Alwarpet. The event will begin with the nagaswaram recital of Adyar S.P. Manikandan at 3.30 p.m.
Chitra Visweswaran, member secretary, Tamil Nadu Eyal Isai Nataka Manram, will inaugurate and confer the titles, ‘Sangeetha Kalasikhamani’ on eminent violinist A. Kanyakumari and ‘Natya Kalasikhmani’ on Bharatanatyam exponent, Priyadarsini Govind. Nalli Kuppusami will present the cash award and Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman Award for the Best Mridangam Vidwan to Mannargudi A. Easwaran.
