Silver up Rs 400 to Rs 44,800/kg, gold rises marginally

Silver rose further by Rs 400 to Rs 44,800 per kg on the bullion market today on increased offtake by industrial units and coin makers, while gold added Rs 10 to Rs 20,405 per 10 grams on pick up in local demand.

Silver ready strenthened further by Rs 40O to Rs 44,800 per kg and weekly—based delivery by Rs 430 to Rs 44,530 per kg. Silver coins also gained Rs 20O to Rs 48,700 for buying and Rs 48,800 for selling of 100 pieces.

Gold of 99.9 and 99.5 per cent purity added another Rs 10 each to Rs 20,405 and Rs 20,285 per 10 grams, respectively.

The metal had gained Rs 295 in the previous session.

Sovereign, continued to be asked around previous level of Rs 16,800 per piece of eight grams in restricted buying activity.
