Vivek Chaand Sehgal, chairman of the Motherson Sumi Systems Limited (MSSL), the flagship company of Samvardhana Motherson Group (SMG), has been chosen as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016.
Mr. Sehgal will now represent India at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award (WEOY) ceremony at Monte Carlo in June. The EOY is a global business award programme, now in its 18th year in India.
Co-Founder of Infosys Nandan Nilekani has been selected for the Lifetime Achievement Award for his invaluable contribution to the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) – the Aadhaar initiative, which is a pioneering citizen identification programme.
As the honorary advisor to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), he has helped create the ecosystem for digital financial services in India. He has played a major role in the growth of the Indian information technology industry and received Padma Bhushan in 2009.
R. Dinesh, managing director of city-based TVS Logistics Services, has been selected for the award in the services category. Rajiv Memani, Chairman, EY India, lauded the award-winners for their contribution towards building a better working world.
