NSE to auction investment limits for ₹ 2,800-cr govt bonds

The auction will be conducted on NSE’s e-bid platform from 1530 hours to 1730 hours after the close of market hours.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has said it will auction investment limits for overseas investors for purchase of government bonds worth close to ₹ 2,800 crore on Monday.

The auction will be conducted on NSE’s e-bid platform from 1530 hours to 1730 hours after the close of market hours, the exchange has said in a circular.

The auction quota will giveoverseas investors the right to invest in debt up to the stipulated limit.

Till Thursday the total investment in the government debt category reached ₹1,84,914 crore, 98.52 % of total permitted threshold of ₹1,87,700 crore, as per the latest update with depositories.

Consequently, the exchange will conduct an auction for the allocation of unutilised debt investment limits (₹ 2,786 crore) on September 25.

In an auction conducted earlier this month, the government bonds had attracted bids to the tune of ₹ 6,663 crore from foreign investors against Rs 4,910 crore put on offer.
