Industrialist K.K. Varma dead

Advocate and industrialist K. K. Varma died at his residence in Chennai on Thursday morning. He was 83.

He is survived by wife Indira Bayi, daughter of the Regent of erstwhile Travancore Sethu Lakshmi Bayi, son Shreekumar Varma and daughter Shobhana Varma.

Varma was founder-chairman of the erstwhile India Meters Ltd. and long-time chairman of the Madras Kerala Samajam.
