CPCL posts profit at Rs. 220.36 crore

Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL) on Friday reported a profit of Rs. 220.36 crore for the quarter ended December 2009.

The company had a net loss of Rs. 1,269.89 crore in the same period previous year.

For the nine-month period ended December 31, 2009, the net profit of the company stood at Rs. 684.28 crore.

The firm had a net loss of Rs. 589.28 crore, in the same period last year, CPCL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

During the quarter ended December 2009, the company reported net sales of Rs. 6,649.84 crore as compared to Rs. 5,617.45 crore in the same period last year.

For the nine-month period ended December 2009, the company reported a net profit of Rs. 19,507.37 crore as compared to Rs. 27,153.93 crore in the corresponding period last year.
