Sterlite Q4 profit up 35 %

Sterlite Industries has posted a rise of 35 per cent in its net profit after tax attributable to consolidated group after exceptional items of Rs. 1,925 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 against Rs. 1,425.31 crore in the previous year. Total income has risen to Rs 10,056.11 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 from Rs. 7,227.79 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010.

The company has posted a net profit after tax of Rs 5,042.52 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011 against Rs. 3,743.74 crore for the year ended March 31, 2010. Total income has risen to Rs. 30,428.50 crore from Rs. 24,682.45 crore.

The company has announced a dividend of Rs. 1.10 per share on face value of Re. 1 each.
