Aimed at further consolidating its position in the Indian smartphone market, Samsung Electronics on Monday unveiled three new touch-screen handsets, which include its first device on the latest Windows operating system.
Priced at Rs.19,990, Omnia W is based on the latest release of Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, code-named Mango, featuring an elegant design, a vivid 3.7 inch SuperAMOLED display, an enriched content and excellent social communication experience. The phone comes with powerful 1.4GHz processor, 5MP camera and integrated 14.4Mbps HSPA+ connectivity, enabling high-speed data browsing.
Similarly, Samsung has also introduced Wave III smartphone loaded with the upgraded version of its indigenous software ‘bada 2.0'. Priced at Rs.19,600, the smartphone comes with market-leading 4-inch SuperAMOLED display, a 1.4GHz processor and hosts of Samsung Apps, an integrated application store.
Samsung, which has gained considerably in the Indian mobile handset market in the last few years, has also introduced Galaxy Y. Powered by the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, the device is priced at Rs.7,830 and targeted at young and first-time smartphone users. The Galaxy Y includes Samsung's Social Hub, allowing users to stay connected with their online social circles. All these phones will hit the market soon.
Commenting on the Samsung's strategy of supporting multiple platforms across its mobile devices, Samsung India Country Head (Mobile and IT) Ranjit Yadav said: “Mobile consumers are looking for high-performance devices that are easy and intuitive to use, look great, and enable them to create and share rich multimedia content with ease.”
With the launch of the three new smartphones, Samsung has a total range of 12 smartphones, priced between Rs.6,710 and Rs.32,890.
