Pawan Hans Helicopter Limited (PHHL) has drawn up plans to connect Delhi with neighbouring cities such as Agra, Mathura and Vrindavan through chopper services to tap the huge tourism and medical potential in the National Capital Region (NCR).

According to an official statement issued here on Thursday, while Vrindavan and Mathura top the list of cities to be connected with the capital in keeping with high religious tourism potential, Agra, Muzaffarnagar and Meerut, too, are being considered by the PHHL for chopper connectivity.

A technical team of the PHHL had already visited Vrindavan and Mathura during the last few days and held discussions with local administration on helipad sites, security and passenger facilitation. Discussions with the Uttar Pradesh Government for necessary support would be held soon, it added.

Feasibility study

Survey and feasibility study of chopper operations to Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Mathura and Agra were also being planned, it said.

PHHL is planning to provide seamless air connectivity between Delhi and neighbouring towns, not only to promote tourism, but also facilitate carriage of critical patients to multi-speciality hospitals in the capital, it said.
