Marginal rise in Corporation Bank profit

Corporation Bank has posted a net profit of Rs.405.71 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2012, against Rs.401.11 crore in the year-ago period, according to a bank release. During the quarter, the bank opened 47 branches.

For the half-year ended September 30, 2012, the net profit increased to Rs.775.97 crore from Rs.752.56 crore in the first-half of the previous financial year.

Agricultural advances stood at Rs.8,004 crore as at September 30, 2012, against Rs.5,778 crore on September 30, 2011.

SME advances stood at Rs.15,784 crore against Rs.12,792 crore.
