Godrej Interio, a leading home, office furniture and interior solutions company, launched on Wednesday its first franchise store in Chennai in association with Sarada Agencies, a dealer in home and office furniture.
The store, located in Velachery, a key retail hub, was inaugurated by Anil Mathur, COO, Godrej Interio.
Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Mathur said Godrej Interio was expanding its presence constantly and the plan was to launch 70 stores by 2013. The company was also looking at acquisitions for faster growth, he said.
Mr. Mathur said Godrej Interio was developing products with embedded technology, especially in the furniture segment.
According to K. M. Vinod Kumar, Chief General Manager (South), there was huge potential for growth in the home furniture business, especially in the South and Tamil Nadu was contributing 10 per cent of the total all-India market for the company.
