Digital imaging and printing solutions provider Epson India is focused on coming up with customized solutions for the healthcare, education and textile sectors.
At a press conference, the company’s Deputy General Manager S. M. Ramprasad said Epson had always been centric about delivering sector-specific solutions - be it the digital projection space or addressing activity-based printing needs.
For textile industry applications, Epson is working at making ‘dye-sublimation’ printers for printing on t-shirts, following it up with a direct garment printer for printing on sarees.
“We are in the process of appointing new sub-distributors exclusively for our textile sector products,” Mr. Ramprasad said.
Part of the Japan-based Seiko Epson Corporation, the Indian arm has in the pipeline a clutch of new product launches for these sectors this fiscal.
Mr. Ramprasad said that special scanners, label printers and disc producers, to transfer patient records to multiple discs, would be rolled out in the next two months.
“The digital imaging market in the healthcare segment alone is estimated at Rs. 1,200 crore, and we are confident of increasing our share in the near future,” he said.
Portable label printing, robotics and factory automation, wearable imaging devices and short run label printing were other products that the company would soon be making available in the market.
