Carborundum pays Re. 1 final

Carborundum Universal has announced a final dividend of Re. 1 per share for the year ended March 31, 2011. The company had already paid an interim dividend of Rs. 1.50.

In the year 2009-10, the company paid a dividend of Rs. 2.

The net profit has risen by 68 per cent to Rs. 171 crore in the year ended March 31, 2011 from Rs. 102 crore in 2009-10. Net sales have risen by 25 per cent to Rs. 1,601 crore from Rs. 1,280 crore.

According to a release, all business segments registered a growth rate in excess of 20 per cent. The abrasive business grew by 27 per cent, electro minerals by 25 per cent, ceramics by 22 per cent.
