As part of its ongoing succession moves, Berger Paints has appointed Rishma Kaur, daughter of Chairman Kuldip Singh Dhingra as his alternate director.
Alonsgide, Kanwardeep Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh, has been appointed as his alternate director.
These appointments were decided at a meeting of the board of directors of the company on April 14 and are part of the ongoing succession and continuity initiatives of the company, the company said in a filing to the stock exchange.
Ms. Kaur will additionally continue as the company's National Business Development Manager and Mr. Kanwar Dinghra as Manager (Project Engineering).
It may be mentioned that in mid-February, Berger initiated this exercise, naming Abhijit Roy as the successor to Subir Bose, the present CEO, who is due to retire on June 30, 2012. Mr.Roy, Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing), has now been appointed Director and Chief Operating Officer.
It was also decided to appoint Srijit Dasgupta, Senior Vice-President (Finance and Accounts) as Director and CFO. The company, which has the second highest market share after Asian Paints, is a city-based MNC with a presence in Russia, Nepal and Poland.
