Audi to hike price by up to 5 %

German luxury car-maker Audi is planning to increase the price of its models sold in India by up to 5 per cent from January 1, 2013.

“The overall market scenario is challenging. The rise in input cost, depreciating rupee as well as continuous increase in fuel prices have made us re-evaluate our pricing strategy in India and increase the prices of the entire range,” said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.The company sold 850 cars in October this year as compared to 482 units in October 2011. From January to October this year, 7,267 vehicles have been sold as compared to 4,692 units sold in the year-ago period.

Audi models

The Audi models in India include the new Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A8L, Audi Q3, Audi Q5, Audi Q7, Audi S4, Audi RS5 Coupé, Audi TT Coupé, Audi R8 and Audi R8 Spyder.
