Chemplast wins two awards

Chemplast Sanmar has won two awards, for innovative case study and excellent water efficient unit, at the seventh National Award for Excellence in Water Management organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Hyderabad.

According to a release, the two awards were for the successful case study of zero liquid discharge at Mettur plant. Chemplast has not discharged a single drop of treated effluent since September 2009 in Mettur while in Cuddalore and Karaikkal there has been no discharge since inception.

“The Sanmar Group is a pioneer in zero liquid discharge. We have always believed in investing in the best available technology; we are confident that our facilities have state-of-the-art technology that is particularly vital for environment management,” said N. Sankar, Chairman, Sanmar Group.
