Wipro teams up with Agnik

To offer advanced connected car services and platforms for the automotive industry

Wipro has tied up with big data analytics firm Agnik to offer advanced connected car services and platforms for the automotive industry.

Agnik specialises in telematics products and cloud-based analytics solutions for connected car environment, which refer to cars equipped with Internet access. A Wipro release said that the services jointly offered would be powered by Agnik’s big data products that analysed vehicle and driver performance using on-board and cloud-based distributed analytics. Wipro already offers software solutions in the automotive sector for passenger, commercial and heavy vehicles that range from remote telemetry mobile-to-mobile service transformation, warranty, dealer systems and analytics, the company said.

“Our deep investment and expertise in the machine-to-machine (M2M) space and particularly in connected car environments along with world-wide engagement with automotive companies will be further enhanced by this new cutting-edge solution from Agnik which is based on decade-long research,’’ the release quoted Srinivas Rao of its manufacturing and hi-tech business unit as saying.

Hillol Kargupta, co-founder and President, Agnik, said, “Agnik offers a comprehensive set of telematics products powered by our patented on-board data-stream mining technology and wide range of cloud-based analytics for consumer and commercial connected car environments.”
