United Bank of India (UBI) has served ‘wilful defaulter’ notices to Vijay Mallya and other directors of the Kingfisher Airlines (KFA). The notices were served on Wednesday, a senior official of UBI said.

If declared a wilful defaulter, the person would not be able to borrow in future and lose director-level positions in companies.

To a query on the bank’s exposure to the group, he said this was a few hundred crores, declining to elaborate further.
